DEAF & HARD OF HEARING
Capital City Christian Church is blessed to have a strong and flourishing ministry dedicated to the deaf and hard of hearing worshippers. This ministry emphasizes use of American Sign Language (ASL) during fellowship and other activities at the church.
We invite you to come and worship with us!
The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Ministry at Capital City Christian Church (CCCC) offer the following activities that make it possible for us to grow spiritually in Christ’s teachings:
1)Sunday school class (9:00am – 10:00am) – you (deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing) are invited to join us in this exciting and inspirational class where we learn, discuss, and share own thoughts on exciting Bible topics. An individual who is Deaf teaches this class in ASL.
2)Morning worship (10:30am-12pm) – a sign-language interpreter is provided during morning worship.
3)For those who are hard of hearing, the church offers ALD (assistive listening devices) which makes listening to sermons easy and enjoyable.
4)The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Ministry sponsors special outreach events with CCCC support. The purpose of these events is to reach out, inform, share Good News, and welcome the Tallahassee Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community to the teachings of Christ at CCCC.
The Bible teaches us the importance of having a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Ministry. Three examples can be found, one in Exodus 4:10-12 (God talking to Moses), one in Leviticus 19:14 (God telling people to treat those with hearing loss with respect), and one in Mark 7:31-37 (Jesus healing a deaf man).
